Addiction and Substance Abuse
Salvation Army provides support to children and families in the form of shelter, clothing, and food. As well, they provide rehabilitation counselling to individuals battling addiction.
At CAYR Community Connections we offer specialized and combined programs for:
• People living with HIV/AIDS (newly diagnosed to long-term survivors)
• People affected by or at risk of HIV and Hep C
• People who use drugs
• People who identify as 2SLGBTQ+
• People supporting vulnerable and marginalized community members

The Krasman Centre provides a number of Peer Support programs for those who live with substance abuse. Locations are in Richmond Hill, Newmarket and Alliston.
Here you will find housing and mental health supports for those with complex mental and physical health challenges. ex: vulnerable population, homelessness, addictions.

ASYR provides community treatment programs and group services to individuals who are 12 years of age and older, and their families. Located in Aurora, there are also satellite offices and community withdrawal management clinics located throughout York Region. You will find community treatment programs such as Withdrawal management centres (Detox) and phone numbers for various Addiction Support groups. There is also a Family & Friends Information & Navigation Guide and multiple workshops. The focus is on recovery.
The brochure included is about the residential program. The organization also provides a wide variety of recovery-based programs and services including an Employment Preparation Program and Job Finding Club to achieve employment, education and recovery goals. The programs help clients develop self-sufficiency, confidence and valuable tools and skills they need to sustain life in recovery.
