March of Dimes Canada provides a wide range of services to people with disabilities throughout the country. Programs include camps, devices, travel and much more-Housing available in Toronto. There is a location in Newmarket.
In partnership with CMHA - York Region, the Aging at Home program provides support services to individuals who identify as Indigenous (First Nation, Metis, Inuit), aged 45 and up that reside in the York and South Simcoe regions such as: Home visits/companionship
• Light housekeeping
• Transportation (to medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacy, group programs, etc.)
• Congregate dining/feasts
• Culturally based group programs (ex. Traditional crafts, cooking, drum circles)
We are a resource and referral center and help connect people to registered agencies and then offer further assistance via their case workers. Delivery Hope program provides survivors assistance through product distribution. This includes clothing (women, children and sometimes men), housewares, toiletries, bedding and much more.
Routes is based in York Region and improves access to basic needs and special destinations, through safe, affordable, compassionate and timely transportation. We help those who are experiencing social, physical, mental and financial limitations to using common transportation methods, and are there in times of need for members of our communities.
Eligible residents can purchase a TAP pass for half the cost of a YRT Adult monthly pass. The TAP is valid for unlimited travel on YRT services for the calendar month.
