Amplify Your Impact: Join Our Make It Monthly Campaign for Women's Empowerment!
March is a month of change, renewal, and empowerment. It's a time when we come together to celebrate International Women’s Day and the strides made toward gender equality while recognizing the challenges that still lie ahead. At the Women's Centre of York Region, we are dedicated to supporting women and their families, providing essential services, resources, and advocacy to empower them to lead fulfilling lives.
As we gear up for March, we are thrilled to announce our exciting Make It Monthly campaign! We've partnered with CanadaHelps to amplify the impact of your generosity. For the entire month of March, CanadaHelps will donate an additional $20 for every new monthly donation of $20 or more and will donate an additional $10 for existing monthly donations that are increased by $10 or more, doubling your donation’s impact! This means that every donation you make will go even further in supporting the vital programs and services we offer to empower individuals experiencing socioeconomic barriers and gender-based violence (GBV) in our community.

Your recurring contribution provides us with a stable and predictable source of funding, enabling us to plan and deliver our programs effectively. Whether it's providing counselling services, life-skills programming, educational workshops, or emergency assistance, your monthly support ensures that we can continue to be there for those who need us most, month after month.
How You Can Help:
Participating in our Make It Monthly campaign is easy and impactful:
Start a New Monthly Donation: Visit our CanadaHelps donation page and set up a monthly gift of $20 or more. With CanadaHelps' additional $20 donation* for new monthly gifts, your contribution will have double the impact in supporting women in York Region. With four preset monthly donation amounts and the ability to make your own, you choose the impact your donation makes.
Increase Your Existing Monthly Donation: If you're already a monthly donor, consider increasing your contribution by $10 or more through CanadaHelps. Not only will you be supporting us at a higher level, but you'll also trigger an extra $10 donation from CanadaHelps, amplifying the effect of your generosity.
Spread the Word: Share our Make It Monthly campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues. Encourage them to join you in making a difference by becoming monthly donors to the Women's Centre of York Region.

Choose the impact your donation makes that resonates with you:
Grocery Assistance
For as little as $25 a month, you can provide a woman with essential grocery assistance, ensuring she has access to nutritious food for herself and her family.
Making Changes Program
With a monthly donation of $50, you can sponsor a woman in our year-long Making Changes program. This transformative initiative equips participants with the confidence and communication skills needed to navigate life's challenges and forge a path towards a brighter future.
Economic Empowerment
With a monthly donation of $75, you can sponsor a woman in the First Step Program. By doing so, you're investing in her journey towards independence and self-sufficiency. Your contribution helps her build a career and gain the necessary financial skills to thrive.
Counselling
For as low as $125 a month, you can sponsor a woman in our Individual and Transitional Housing and Support Counselling programs, ensuring she receives personalized support and guidance to address her unique needs and safely exits abusive relationships.
