York Region - Housing Supports

The Homelessness Prevention Program helps eligible York Region residents, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness not receiving Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Program benefits, to stabilize their housing. Information is available on the York Region website.

Addiction Services of York Region

ASYR provides community treatment programs and group services to individuals who are 12 years of age and older, and their families. Located in Aurora, there are also satellite offices and community withdrawal management clinics located throughout York Region. You will find community treatment programs such as Withdrawal management centres (Detox) and phone numbers for various Addiction Support groups. There is also a Family & Friends Information & Navigation Guide and multiple workshops. The focus is on recovery.

Our dental programs are delivered by registered dental hygienists and certified dental assistants. Dental treatment is provided by community dentists who are paid by the program. Our goal is to promote oral health, prevent dental disease and treat eligible clients. On this page your will find information including:

Newmarket Food Pantry

The pantry provides a 3-day emergency food supply to residents of Newmarket and East Gwillimbury, which includes canned and packaged food, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat and bread (when available). You will also find answers to your questions on how to get food + cost friendly meal suggestions.

COSTI

A community-based multicultural agency providing employment, educational, settlement and social services to all immigrant communities, new Canadians and individuals in need of assistance. Services are available in over 60 languages. Of special interest: Language instruction.

360°Kids Support Services

The Administration is in Markham and the programs are available throughout York Region. The organization provides comprehensive services for youth in crisis and at-risk, particularly when it is not safe for them at home. Programming ranges from interventions to meet the immediate needs of youth in crisis (shelter, trauma counselling, basic needs support) to more long-term development programs (afterschool programming, academic and Employment).
